How to Build a Form on Fergus Desktop | Fergus

At any stage of the job, residential or commercial, there can be a set of instructions, policy documentation or compliance standards that need to be met before you can move onto the next task.

Watch this video for a step-by-step guide on how you can use the Forms Add-On to build forms on the desktop version of Fergus.

Hi and welcome to our Fergus product tutorial. In this video, I'll walk you through how to use the forms. Add-on. Use the forms add-on to create templates or one off custom forms for any standard requirements, analysis or processes. You or your team need to complete on a job. It's important to note the difference between a form template and a form.

Templates are what you can see in your Fergus settings and are what you use to create forms. Forms are added to your jobs. These will become relevant as we progress through this video. Now let's start by taking a look at how to create a form on the desktop version of Fergus. Start by navigating to settings in your Fergus account and scroll down to select forms. If forms is not activated. Follow the banner with instructions to enable the add-on here, you can see any form template you have created, or you can delete any that you no longer need. To create a new form template. Select new template on the top right of your screen, which will take you to the form builder. This is where you create a form template.

First, make sure you name your form template. This is what other users will see when searching for this form template form. Templates are made to suit your business, so there's a huge range of different elements for customising the format and layout. There are two different categories of elements on the right hand side toolbar. Instructional elements. Tell the user what is required and data entry elements are the elements of the form the user will fill in. Drag and drop these elements from the sidebar into your form template, adding labels As you go Sections allow you to group elements together so you can hide or expand a section with elements inside it to move elements into a new section hover over the left hand corner. A small arrow will appear. This means you can now move the element. This can make it easier to navigate your forms both when creating form templates and when the user is filling out the form on their mobile Use the paragraph field in a section to write a description of that section, or leave a note about how it should be completed.

Don't worry if you add the wrong element by mistake, just delete the element and then click delete element Other elements that you may find handy are things such as adding the job date and a signature element. You can make any data entry element a required field by simply clicking mark as required. system tags Help you save time on data entry by automatically filling data entry elements with information you already have on that job. To use system tags, simply type the hash key to see the options you can select from the dropdown. Let's try hashtag customer full name, for example. now, every job that uses this form template will have the job's customer's full name automatically prefilled in the form. There are over 50 system tags you can use in Fergus. So don't hold back Let's finish this form template off by adding another section for details about this site. Visit like a description. any hazards and risk control measures, Once you are happy with the form template, you can save it to come back to later. or you can click publish. If you want to start using it on jobs Now let's cover how to use this form template on a job. Open any job and you'll notice that under tools, there is a new subheading forms.

Click to open this and show what forms have been created to this job, if any. to create a new form, click add form in the top right and select the form template to create a new form. it's important to note here that if you can't see a form template you've built, you might need to check that you have published it within the form builder. Only published form templates will be available on jobs. Use the search functionality to locate the form you're looking for or filter by status. If, for example, you want to view active forms only, Assign the form to a user and set a due date.

You can also set a reminder so that the right team member is notified when the form is due If you have used system tags in your form, you will see this information for that field has been prefilled. If some of the information is incorrect, it's easy enough to click to delete it and refill it with the correct information. Some system tags might have multiple choices. If this is the case, simply click and select the correct detail. And that's it.
