“Your custom price book in Fergus is a dedicated space to store unique liner items not included in supplier price books, like your labor rates, for example.

Adding these items ensures they’re readily available when quoting, invoicing, or adding costs to jobs, saving you time and avoiding manual entry.

To get started, go to settings by clicking on your profile icon in the top right corner, then select ‘Pricebooks’ from the menu. In the center of the page, click ‘Edit Custom Price Book’. This opens your custom price book where you can edit existing items or add new ones. Let’s add a new line item. If you have a product code, enter it here or skip this if it doesn’t apply. Next, enter the item name. For example, Lara’s hourly rate.

Then add the cost price being your hourly pay rate and retail price being your hourly charge out rate.

Finally, make sure the sales account type is set correctly.

Fergus defaults to material sales, but since this is a labor rate, change it to labor sale. When everything is filled out, click create to save the item.

And that’s it. This item will now be easy to find when building quotes and invoices or adding costs to your jobs.”
