The Status Board

The status board is the heart of Fergus, this video shows how to read the status board and what triggers movement. You will learn how and why Jobs flow through the columns and if there is anything required from you to keep the job on track

Transcript

Hey guys. Christy here from the Fergus team today, we are going to give you a rundown on the Fergus Status Board to get you started.

Our status board works on a traffic light system, which means red needs action. Orange and yellow may require attention, and green means everything is on track. We're going to begin with the pending column. This is where any expired or stale jobs will be.

Any jobs on hold or jobs that haven't been marked as complete. Moving on to pricing. This is where your quotes and estimates will begin, as you need to create a price document to send to your customer. Scheduling is the starting point for booking your team into jobs in the calendar, or you can just assign individuals or group members. This is also where the charge up job type will begin moving along to end progress.

This column shows the jobs that the team are currently working on, adding time and materials to the appropriate site visits. The back costing column is the only column on the status board that requires manual input. This is to ensure that all costs that are included and accurate before moving to invoice your customer Now the Invoicing column is fairly self-explanatory.

All that needs to be done here is for an invoice to be created and sent away to your customer payments. Let you know how the invoices are tracking after you've sent them, so that you can see what's overdue. For example, if you are ever unsure of what each column in the status quo means or why your job is in a specific column, you can hover over the respective column to get more information.

You can also filter to an individual by clicking here and typing the staff member's name or the group. The Fergus Status Board gives you the benefit of having your jobs move through various stages so you can clearly see how your jobs are progressing.

Don't forget that site visits within a job can move independently, as they may be at a different stage to the job as a whole.
