Did you know you can add time entries in Fergus on desktop, not just on the mobile app? There are two main ways to do this.
Let’s begin with a job card. First, open the relevant job card and click the labor tab next to the scheduling tab.
Here, you’ll see all existing time entries for this job phase. You can add new time entries or edit existing ones for any employee as long as you have the right permissions enabled in your user settings. To add a new time entry, use the panel on the left, select the correct staff member at the top, choose the date, start and end time, add a description, and if needed, include any unchargeable time so Fergus can exclude it from the customer’s invoice. Once complete, click add time entry at the bottom.
Fergus will ask if the labor is complete or still in progress. This choice updates where the job appears on your status board. The new time entry will now appear on the right hand side as a confirmed time entry. To edit an entry, click the pencil icon, make your changes and click save.
To delete an entry, simply click the x next to it instead.
You can also add and edit time entries through the timesheet overview report found under the reports menu in the top right corner. The timesheet overview is best for editing existing time entries or adding uncharged time like internal meetings, but you cannot create new job specific entries from here. For that, you’ll need to go through the relevant job card as shown earlier in the video.
By default, you’ll see your own entries. To view others, simply adjust the filter in the top left corner. To edit an entry, click the pencil icon next to it and make your changes.
To add uncharged time, for example, for an office meeting, click add uncharged time at the bottom left of the relevant date box. Enter the start and end times, choose a reason for the entry and add a description.
Finally, click save when you’re done. And that’s it. For more tips on managing time entries while out in the field, be sure to check out our guide on time entries in Fergus Go.
